Sirius scowled as he checked his watch. He wasn’t mad that Leanne was late, he just wanted her to be here sitting with him already. They were losing perfectly good time together. However, seeing as it was his night with the map, he pulled it out of his pocket, and spread it out across the table, but no one thought it odd because he was in the library pretending to do homework afterall. He tapped the page with his wand. “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.”
Immediately lines and dots appeared to form the Marauder’s Map. He tapped the parchment again with his wand and muttered, “Locate Leanne Mavick.” Immediately a dot on the map puled and glowed slightly. She was evidently having an intense conversation with her twin, Marie, just at the entrance of the library even. He may as well go retrieve her then. He could say hi to Marie then as well. Those two were so silly together, and he loved just how ridiculous they could get. He wiped the map clear and tucked it back into his pocket. He left his books and homework at the table, not caring if they were taken, and knowing that they wouldn’t be.
As he neared the spot he knew the twins would be, he groaned. there, between him and his target of Leanne, was his brother, Regulus. Dating Leanne had been complicated anyway simply because her twin was dating his brother. He and Regulus....were not on good terms. Then things got worse. Regulus turned around and looked straight at him. Sirius made his face automatically blank. Regulus beckoned for him to come over. He couldn’t refuse. That’s something his mother would do.
“What do you-?”
“Shhh,” Regulus silenced him. “The girls are up to something. Look.” Regulus then turned back toward the bookshelf, pretending to look for a book, but as Sirius took Regulus’ cue, he saw that Regulus was, in fact, watching the Mavick twins. The two were whispering earnestly together, but kept glancing around at the entrance to the library. About a minute later, the girls straightened up instantly. Sirius looked over where the girls were looking. It was Nathan Raines. Sirius’ blood boiled as the girls waved at him.
“G’day, girls!” He said in his stupid Australian accent, running a hand through his stupid dark brown hair, smiling his stupid smile. Sirius did at least smirk at the fact that Raines almost tripped over a chair on his way to talk to the girls. It was just a pity he hadn’t fallen flat on his stupid face.
The girls chatted, no flirted, with Raines and he laughed and flirted back. This was seriously wrong - the flying instructor was at least ten years older than he, Sirius, was. He looked over at Regulus, Regulus also turned his head and Sirius saw the dark look on his own face reflected in his brother’s. Regulus lifted his wand and aimed carefully between the bookshelves. Raines instantly started scratching his elbow. Sirius followed suit and pointed his wand at Raines’ leg. After about a minute, Raines left the girls, no doubt en route to the hospital wing.
Sirius was not satisfied though. “Meet me after midnight in the Charms corridor. Raines is going to pay for this.”
“You read my mind.” The brothers parted as their girlfriends, giggling and recounting their conversation with the dumb flying instructor, stood to go and meet their boyfriends for their planned study sessions.
